Steamforce Go by Anastas-C Steamforce Go by Anastas-C
~Hawk-tip mistook Racard as a steampunk Razor, and so I decided to make some sketches. Made simply to try out steampunk, but got bored of it kinda fast. I'm not too big on drawing the details of gears and parts.

Trying to get all these quick ideas down in order to spark other interests and there may be one more monkey-crossover on the way, (Because it's fast). School starts soon and I've realized my summer depression isn't uncommon after being away at college. Yay, I should feel normal in a few weeks.

XDDD Oh my goodness, seriously? This looks so great! Especially Sparx.

:D I might've linked Razor to steampunk because some friends and I went to a steampunk festival recently, and so pretty much anyone wearing a trenchoat, goggles, and a gun would be dubbed a steamer. XD My costume was a birdmask with a top hat.

Inspiration can spark from anywhere.

Your costume sounds like the doctor character, even though I have no idea who that really is.

:D True that.

The doctor! Well, from what I can remember, doctors back in the renaissance would wear masks shaped like bird beaks to help prevent airborne viruses from making the doctor sick. The beak acted like a filter, and they would put herbal leaves in it that were supposedly medicinal and would clean out the "contaminated air". :D But it didn't really work.

That's a bizarre concept. I don't recall any doctors recorded actually doing that, you sure it's not from a video game?

The doctors were made more popular, recently, by Assassin's Creed 2 which is based during the Renaissance. It is an actual historical concept, however. If I can find a dependable source, I'll link it back to you.

Okay.

I do recall seeing one of them during an Assasin's Creed gameplay, now that I think of it.

I've been searching for someone who did before. Couldn't any in DA :<

So I wanted to instead revise one of my characters into a steampunk cause honestly, how could every robot monkey have the same robotic architecture besides the ones with the same creator as the hyper force?

I feel that identical team designs aren't typical steampunk fashion.

I've always loved the steam punk style with the gears. Do you have any tips on drawing them?

Gears? Start with circles, make a center hole, then three more surrounding it and add teeth along the outer circle. Is that what you meant?

Forgive me if that comes off as smart-ass, it's late and I'm confused. xD

It's ok. It's late for me too X3
I meant the steam punk style. Like shading it. Gears are the best I can draw ^^;

Ohh, the style. Well, I browsed Google to pick up general references. I haven't really shaded these so I can't say much, but textures are typically rusty and scratched rather than clean and white. No chrome or bright colors, instead it's materials from the Western industrial and English Victorian age, so I'd suggest looking at machinery and clockwork from that time period. Someone might say it's good to know the inner workings of the machine, but if you cover it with a metal armor or leather, it makes it easier not to spend too much time on details.

What I notice the most about steampunk: Clockwork, pipes, corsets, goggles (with lots of lenses), boots, rods and joints, rust, scratches, grommets, leather, funny hats, soot, gloves, flying machines or giant robotic limbs. Whatever pops up in your mind from your own mental list that defines the style, you can add it onto anything. I'm not really great at the style myself, it's still new for me.

I'm into steam punk. The style has always caught my intention (I even have a steam punk outfit. Corset, goggles, watched, boots, ect.).
